Hello Dear Reading Friends,
For over two years and 200+ posts, it has been my honor to share my writing life with you. I hope to keep doing so. Your comments and shared life experiences make my life brighter and motivate me to keep going on this author adventure.
When I started with WordPress, I had no idea how to post blogs, set up pages, play with menus and more. Now, Wednesday mornings are a simple routine of waking up, feeding the pets, then heading to my desk to write about writing, Littleton, personal travels and adventures, and, of course, dogs and cats.
So what is this change I’m announcing?
A new website! Whoo Hoo!
You may not notice much in the way of changes when you come to the new site, but I’ve decided to make the leap into self-hosting. Between us, my good guy and I have more than five sites to manage. He needs a new site to connect with new prospective clients in the Microsoft Dynamics NAV world, and I need to up my skills with web development work. I’m happy to say I’m getting a few clients who want my help with their website designs and content.
I am NOT, however, leaving the WordPress world. This is a terrific platform for both beginners and more advanced webmasters. While I still consider myself a “newbie,” I’m excited to say, I’m learning.
So what does the change mean for you?
If you’ve been getting automated notices of my postings (i.e. you’re an email subscriber to my blog), I’ll bring your subscriptions along with me. You won’t have to do a thing. WordPress.com readers, however, will only see new posts in your WordPress reader. You won’t see updates unless you choose to subscribe.
Another way to reach me will be to look me up. I hope this will be even easier than before, as I will be found at LiesaMalik.com. Just taking out the “WordPress” part of the address.
When will this happen?
As soon as I figure it out (okay, so that should give you a hundred years or so), or when my good guy figures it out (in which case it might happen today–yikes!). In either case, please subscribe to this blog if you haven’t done so already, or let me know you’d like me to send you a link when the new site is operating.
Hoping we’ll stay connected for years to come.
All the best,
